Our 3nd Annual MESOHORNY charity event will be held at Last Best Brewing and Distillery in Calgary on November 17th at 6 p.m. You will enjoy a fun evening of drinks, music and a silent auction. One hundred per cent of the funds raised will go directly to the CMF to provide support for those with mesothelioma and their families in the form of medical treatment information, compensation advice, and help in dealing with this preventable and tragic form of cancer. We are working to build a Canadian Health Network where medical professionals can access the most up-to-date information, treatment protocols and experts in the field.
There are three ways that you can help:
1. ATTEND THE EVENT!
When: November 17th at 6 p.m.
Where: Last Best Brewing and Distillery
What: Drinks, Food, Silent Auction and information on how we can help prevent this disease from impacting more lives
Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door (includes appetizers). Follow this link to purchase tickets: www.myshowpass.com/mesohorny/
2. MAKE A DONATION!
How (to donate): Please contact us at stickittomeso@gmail.com or call Carrie at (587) 229-6506 for more information
Please help us build the CMF through a cash donation or providing an auction item. Donation forms (attached) should be submitted by Thursday, November 10th. If possible cash donations are preferred as they will be combined to purchase items for the auction or be applied directly towards the CMF fundraising goals. Cash donations can also be made through the CMF website at: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/canadian-mesothelioma-foundati…
3. TELL HIM WHAT YOU THINK!
Feel free to email the Prime Minister at justin.trudeau@parl.gc.ca and ask why we are still waiting for this issue that was identified over 100 years ago to go away!? We have attached a convenient template for an email if you choose to do so.
A special thank you to Last Best for graciously donating their venue and $1 from each drink sold to the CMF! Thanks guys! Visit their website and stop in to see what’s new at www.lastbestbrewing.com.
Sincerely,
Dorn Cassidy, Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation
Want more info on asbestos and the push for a national ban?
Here’s a summary of a recent article (link provided below) with some asbestos-related statistics. The current government is dragging its feet as others have in the past. Please consider writing a letter to your MP to express your concern for the lack of action being taken on this important issue. You can also write directly to the Prime Minister’s office as mentioned above.
