Founded in 2008, the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation is a largely volunteer-run registered charity, dedicated to raising awareness and understanding about mesothelioma in Canada. Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that is almost exclusively linked to asbestos exposure. Mesothelioma: from today’s challenges to tomorrow’s cure

On Tuesday, November 26, 2019 the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation hosted an All Day Conference followed by pre-theatre reception and documentary film on asbestos.  The events were held at the MaRS Discovery District on College St. in Toronto, Ontario.

This historic conference was designed to pull the major experts in mesothelioma together, including some international experts, to share leading edge research on mesothelioma. It was designed with the medical community in mind as well as patients and caregivers.

The evening was reserved for a pre-theatre reception and the Canadian debut of "Breathless" by Belgian filmmaker Daniel Lambo.

“Following the deaths of his father and many others from his village, filmmaker Daniel Lambo sets off on a passionate quest to find the truth about the deadly asbestos industry.”

The film was introduced by Daniel Lambo and Eric Jonckheere, whose family’s story is featured in the film, followed by Q&A
